Harbhajan Singh wants to do something special ? Cricket News Update

Out of favour Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is looking forward to impress the BCCI selectors in the Irani Cup match and stage a comeback into the national setup ahead of the four-match Test series against Australia later this month.

Harbhajan, 32, is part of the Rest of India squad that will take on Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai in a five-day Irani Cup match, to be played in Mumbai from February 6 to 10. While speaking to media reporters ahead of the match, Bhajji said that he wants to do something special over the next five days to get picked for the Australia series, commencing at the end of this month.

"I want to do something special and be relaxed and look to bowl well rather than running after the wickets. Wickets will come, if not today, tomorrow it will come. My aim is to bowl well, if I do that, I will get the rewards," Harbhajan told reporters here in Mumbai on Tuesday.

"If I do well, I have a great chance to come back into the Indian side and Australia is coming over, so before the series starts, this was the biggest game I could have got," he went on to add.

The 32-year-old Punjab off-spinner has played only one Test since August 2011. The turbanator is one of the best spinners Indian cricket has produced to date, but he has been struggling for form since the England tour in 2011, when the Men in Blue faced a humiliating 4-0 Test series whitewash at the hands of the Three Lions. Bhajji has 408 Test wickets to his name from 99 Tests and is just a game away from completing the century of Test matches. If picked for the Australia Test later this month, Harbhajan would join the 100-Test club of Indian players, which already contains nine players. However, Bhajji said that completing century of Test appearances was not on his mind and he only wants to play good cricket.

"I am not thinking about the 100th test and so on. I am looking forward for this game and hopefully I have a good game and we do well as a team and go forward from there. I don't want to think too much ahead, playing 100th test. It will be great if I get picked and it will be a great opportunity to do something special for team India," he said.
